Are your children’s bunk beds safe for your kids?

author | December 25, 2009

Many parents contemplate using bunk beds for their little ones to alleviate a deficiency of room or via the request of the kid. The one up one down technique of bunk bed even though quite an exciting venture for young children may be very hazardous; an average 85% of bed incidents are caused from metal bunk beds. There are numerous hazards families must be aware of when buying a children’s bunk bed.

Even though a fall single-handedly could seriously injur a child, objects surrounding the bunk bed could cause an additional hazard. Objects such as blind cords are considerably hazardous; they could simply become tied around a child’s neck and several deaths have arisen because of the kid’s dressing gown cord wrapping around the neck during the fall. These incidents are quite unusual although they do ask the question of how secure our children are in children’s bunk beds. However, kids bunk beds are a fanatastic way of construing a little accountability on your infant and as mentioned previously they are an excellent space salvaging device, so they mustn’t be ignored entirely.

Metal bunk beds are less dangerous now than ever. Enhanced materials, enhanced build quality, and enhanced design have all contributed into a much less hazardous bunk bed than more than a decade before. Many bed bunk incidents are a result of horseplay, in fact, many incidents are as a result of kids jumping around on the beds, in particular college dorm attics and metal bunk beds. As long as safe practices are contained, your teenager should be okay. Teach them to under no circumstances jump on the top bunk and how to use the ladder correctly.

The educational requirements can be different, depending on the state or territory. Most States specify the content and number of hours of training, and some go into more detail than others. Most curricula teach similar rudimentary nursing skills, such as measuring vital signs, patient data collection, patient care and comfort measures, and oral medication administration. Most States have additional training requirements for more advanced skills, such as phlebotomy, IV infusion, and IV medication administration. Even though requirements vary across States, states generally license LPNs that have been licensed in other States without further requirement.

The U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Outlook Handbook provides a broad description of LPN scope of practice: “Licensed practical nurses… care for the sick, injured, convalescent, and disabled under the direction of physicians and registered nurses” (US Department of Labor, 2002) . State regulations tend to be more specific about the role of LPNs; for example, the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) States that the duties “include, but are not limited to, provision of basic hygienic and nursing care; measurement of vital signs; basic client assessment; documentation; performance of prescribed medical treatments; administration of prescribed medications; and, performance of non-medicated intravenous therapy and blood withdrawal (requires separate Board certification.)” (California Board of Licensed Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians, 2004)

Las Vegas Trade Show Exhibiting Made Easier

Las Vegas has grown in the last few years, some of the landmark hotels have been imploded, while being replaced by mega hotels and convention centers.
According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, in 2002 more than 5 million convention and trade show delegates traveled to Las Vegas, generating $5.9 billion in non-gaming revenue. Las Vegas hosts a large percentage of the top conventions and rents more convention space than any other U.S. city. The climate is not usually a factor unlike others cities which have to contend with excessive rain, snow, etc. The city has grown to accommodate the needs of exhibit and convention attendees.

Las Vegas has grown since then, we have seen world famous hotels imploded, like the Dunes, Sands and the Stardust hotels; while being replaced by mega hotels such as the Wynn Hotel Resort, the Venetian, Luxor and the Mandalay Bay, etc. We now have more places to hold conventions. We have seen the Las Vegas Convention Center expand into a mega convention center, while the Sand Convention Center and the Mandalay Bay are not far behind. These convention halls have host such conventions and trade shows like CES, INTEROP, THE GAMING SHOW, SEMA, AAPEX TRADE SHOWS and thousands more.

One exhibit house that has catered to quite a few of these shows is ELDS, Inc, providing the convention exhibitors with custom built exhibit booths either for rental or purchase. ELDS is a full one shop exhibit house that will not only design and manufacture your next trade show display, but will also transport and set up your booth in any location in Las Vegas. See the options available for exhibiting in my previous article “trade show displays; rental vs. purchasing or leasing”. Las Vegas has done a great job of providing a great backdrop for convention goers. Let’s not forget about the gaming industry, restaurants and hotels that cater to such shows and venues.

The city had to expand to accommodate all the conventions that are coming to each of these hotels and convention halls. With the growth of more conventions and mega hotels; a new monorail system was developed. This system runs along the Las Vegas strip to most of the major hotels and convention halls. It’s a quick and easy way to avoid traffic congestion. This system can reach speeds of up to 50 mph, with seven stops. It reaches one end of the Las Vegas strip in 15 minutes or less; it’s cost-efficient and hassle-free. This cuts down on the large amount of parking that is needed. The convention attendees and weekend vacationers can now feel assured that they can escape the traffic jams that other cities experience.

The nightlife, well, what can I say, it’s something that you have to experience “what happens in Las Vegas stays in Las Vegas”. Let your hair down and enjoy yourself.
Currently, Las Vegas has 9 million square feet of convention and meeting space, including the Las Vegas Convention Center’s recent South Hall expansion. Additional available convention space significantly increased in 2003 thanks to the opening of Mandalay Bay’s 1.5 million-square-foot conference center. The city is still growing as more and more hotels are being built, with conventions facilities attached. With over 127,000 guest rooms in hotels and in close proximity to McCarran International Airport, the Las Vegas Convention Center is among the largest convention centers in America. Dealing With Bone Cancer

Improper active growth of cells in the bones can be a one cause of what is bone cancer .However when one asks you about what is bone cancer and how does it occur this answer is not sufficient. There are not sufficient evidences which one can provide against this type of cancer because further research is going on. Still doctors believe that bone cancer is caused due to harsh ultra violet rays, radiation and genetic factors.

It is the rarest type of cancer. Symptoms however may include severe body pains, weak bones, and sweating and unrecovered bone injuries. Knowing what bone cancer is can be pretty helpful for those who are directly exposed to sunlight or who have taken a radioactive treatment before.

They should go for MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scanning instantly or other diagnostic measures available are bone biopsy and CT scan. What happens during bone cancer is that certain types of tumors start to develop like Osteosarchoma, Chorodoma and Histiocytoma. Early tumors in the bones are hard to detect during the first two three visits. However one can feel the tumor when it results in the hard movement of bones especially of joints.

Bone cancer is mostly apparent in the arms and legs bones. After answering what is bone cancer it is time to tell what the key available treatments possible? The treatments however depend on the type and stage of the tumor and overall health of the patient., but usually it starts with chemotherapy treatment Surgery is the best and the most safe option available to remove the tumor as a whole, and that is really what cancer is all about. Post surgical examination by the specialist known as pathologist is considered crucial in order to see if the tumor has been fully removed or no. If the remain of the cancer are identified again amputations are used further on. Before the surgery radiation therapy is given to reduce the size of tumor .This makes the surgery easy.
